Bet you were thinking it was all over, no sir/madam, this is the Social League! Games are to be played out to placings and this week is every team's second last hoorah before the real night we're waiting for, featuring the Grand Finals and the Wooden Spoon playoff.
The rain may have come and washed Incy away today and over the weekend, but if it comes again Wednesday night, do not dismay, ultimate in the rain is an experience and is one of the few sports, excluding water sports that become more fun when it's wet. So here it is!
This week (19/10/11) is the Semis:
1 vs 4 - RedBalls vs. Green Lanterns
2 vs 3 - Lascivious LadyFingers vs. Dark Matter
Following week (26/10/11) - Winners move to Grand Final, Losers play off for 3rd/4th
Lower Bracket Semis
5 vs 8 - Dye Fast Tie Furious vs. Clockwork Orange
6 vs 7 - The Birds vs.Spastic Spunk
Following week - Winners play off for 5th/6th, Losers battle for 7th and the Wooden Spoon (the other path to immortality).
Grand Final night next week will feature barbecue, "BYO soft drinks", all the placing games, spectating of the Grand Final, heckling, awards,... the prospect of sex?, and the conclusion to a great semester (barring the rematch of Australia VS. The World during SWOT Vac).
So get ready for the last few weeks of Ultimate for the semester! Captains and players, get word out to your teammates that they're needed now for the final push! Enjoy your next few games.
