Townsville Mixed Ultimate League Power Rankings – Week 4

3 weeks of the 7 week round robin comp is done and dusted with only 2 teams remaining undefeated. Week 4 is due to start so let’s see what has happened to the Power Rankings over the past week!

1

Dark Matter

Dark Matter keep their fine form rolling along. With their 3rd win in a row they are looking to be the team to beat in the league. With week 4’s game against the cellar dwelling Green Lanterns we should see Dark Matter go 4 from 4.
Dark Matter will be staying number 1 until someone knocks them off!

2

RedBalls

One should be quite impressed with Dave, Mattie and Bevo leading the Knights of the Red Order around the fields to a loss free season so far. With a run in against Spastic Spunk this could be the week that RedBalls drop their 1st.
Same as Dark Matter, RedBalls will be staying at the top until someone can knock them off!

3

Lascivious LadyFingers + 2

The LadyFingers come off a comprehensive week 3 victory against an understrength Tie Dye line up. Even so, with a great team coming together quickly we could see the LadyFingers making a strong push for the finals!
A crucial match up against the 4th ranked Birds this week will separate the men from the LadyBoys!

4

The Birds - 1

After dropping a game to the number 1 ranked Dark Matter in week 2 the Birds rebounded well to get a tough win over Clockwork Orange last week. The Birds have to be one of the flashiest teams out in the parks with their well-designed shirts! Very impressive team!
Wednesday night will give us a clear 3rd place team when the Birds fly against the LadyFingers.

5

Spastic Spunk + 1
After 3 tough weeks of games Spastic Spunk get given their 4th in a row. With a game against the RedBalls this week we could see the Spunk push their way up the rankings. They have a whole lot of experience across the male and female lines that should cause some problems for all teams they have a run against. Be ready for the Spunk to start moving!

6

Dye Fast Tie Furious - 2
The Tie Furious line up has been struggling as of late. With a barrage of no shows, injuries and sickness last week made for a very tough night last week. Watch this space to see Tie Dye bounce back this week!
Wednesday night will see a matchup against Clockwork Orange!

7

Clockwork Orange

Clockwork Orange are still biding their time, winless at the bottom of the ladder. With a star studded line up of Townsville talent these guys are just waiting to explode their way into the winners circle. After pushing the Birds last week Clockwork Orange will be looking to continue on that good form against Dye Fast Tie Furious.

8

The Green Lanterns

The Green Lanterns are out and about having fun playing some good disc. With a small army running around the park you know legs will never be lacking! With captain Christine still sitting on the sidelines recovering from a broken toe it is up the Peter to pull the team together and lead them to their first victory of the season.

Near on the half-way point in the regular season we are starting to see some strong ties formed between all the teams and the make-up of the finals is starting to take shape at the top half of the ladder.

Be ready for the match previews showing up on Wednesday morning!

Until next time, this is Sparkles signing out.

  1. Finny,

One thinks every week you should do a profile on high profile players within the frisbee scene. One thinks the first profile should be on the Green Lanterns Captain.
