Glow-in-the-dark night including a World First! A new game has been invented!

Last night as a lot of fun. It had a lot going for it! There was a slight build-up of excitement at paying fees for the tournament on the weekend, coupled by mention of glow-in-the-dark frisbee at the end of the night! There's plenty going on at the moment and it's great to be a part of!

Firstly, as the round robin was completed, we drew teams out of a hat to play against a random opponent in a serious but fun match-up.

A Knife in the Dark were up against Tie Dye Hards and enjoyed a fun, more casual game and went down 13 - 5. Finishing early, they kept playing and took advantage of the greater freedom allowed when there's nothing on the line to have multiple turn-over points, with plenty of poorly thrown hucks.

Rojo Raptors were against Purple Cobras. Unfortunately it wasn't a pretty looking results for the Cobras either as they went down 13 - 2 without some of their players with that little bit extra experience. The Rojo seem to be coming together strongly towards the end and it could be another Red Team final, to get back to things being the way we're used to.

The Blue Sharks had a win against Yellow Snow, which came after their Yellow's linchpin captain, Shelby, rolled an ankle. Hopefully this will mend soon to allow them a competitive finals.

And finally we had the Mad Hatters getting a win over The Ogres. The Mad Hatters seem to be building some steam at the right time of the year. Good on them.

The timecap on games this night deliberately created synchronous finishing times across all four fields so that the next stage of the night could unwind. While some sad souls disappeared, those with enough imagination stayed to play or spectate our second ever glow-in-the-dark night of frisbee! Everyone pitched in to get things running smoothly and so we all got to enjoy the satisfy cracking of glowsticks. After that the next little problem faced was how to attach these to the body as they were not the linking up kind! Apart from tucking them into socks or shoelaces and sticking them in your pants, the next logical thing to do in the dark was take off some of your clothing, cut off the top of the glowstick and have someone flick it all over you.

It was really exciting to see the lights go off and 4 teams of people and two fields glowing vividly. It was so bright and vivid I nearly cried! So the games got started and for future reference sweaty bodies do not make good absorbent platforms for the glowing liquid to stay on. But nevertheless, there were enough glow sticks and glowing wristbands on people that you could see enough detail such as which team they were on (glowing blue or glowing green) and from the combination of positions of glow sticks you could even make out which teammate it was! The wristband was great for attracting attention in the endzone when you wanted someone to throw the disc to you without yelling and drawing all the defenders! Just wave your arm and hopefully the blue or green wristband would be recognised!

After the games finished there was a world first! Or I'm going to say at least an Australian first. Glow-in-the-dark Ninja Warrior! Everyone picked up a glowstick for each hand from the field and a very bright and colourful game of...Jedi Warrior began! Finny as usual was the eventual winner in a showdown with Dave. I think these two have tickets on themselves and we may need to target them at the tournament.

Thanks to Mike for the insight to have such a fun night as well as for organising it and also to Brad for his contribution! Well done! It was really fun!
