Hittin' the booze

The spirit of the game is probably one of the unique and important rules of the Ultimate Frisbee we know today. A lot has been said about it already, but all I want to do is bring it back to the attention of our current batch of players out there. We certainly don't hear enough about it, that doesn't mean it isn't present, but perhaps we need to know it a little more.

So look at these rules and read section 1 on Spirit.

Take note of the following rule:

1.4. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but should never
sacrifice the mutual respect between players, adherence to
the agreed-upon rules of the game, or the basic joy of play.

And noting that rule I would say that we here in Townsville are doing a fine job on rule 1.4. Perhaps though might I point out, that there are times when the last part of that rule is being broken "the basic joy of play". Come on you Motherhuckers, Hard Forkers, Sharks, and pink coloured Bad Ass Mother F**kerS, cut the competitiveness, you're ruining the joy for us, the HEAVYWEIGHTS! CAUSE WE'D LOVE TO WIN!
