Townsville Mixed Ultimate League Power Rankings – Week 6

With week 6 kicking off on Wednesday night we will see the end of the regular season of ultimate. With each team having a double header tonight we could see some huge movement on the ladder and on the Finals Power Rankings next time!
Let’s get to it this week!

1

RedBalls

For the first half of the season the RedBalls were hiding in the shadows of Dark Matter. But no longer! Over the last 2 weeks the RedBalls have pushed ahead and remain the only unbeaten team in the league! With some excellent performances and the coming out of Mattie H and Bevo the RedBalls have forged ahead. These guys are the team to beat coming into finals!
This week RedBalls play two huge games against Lascivious LadyFingers & Dark Matter. These games will separate the men from the ladyboys!

2	Lascivious LadyFingers + 1

After a tough loss way back in round 1 Lascivious LadyFingers haven’t looked back since! With no team scoring double digits against them for the last 4 rounds teams will need to find a way to get through their rock solid defence in order to get the W against the LadyFingers.
This week the LadyFingers have Clockwork Orange & RedBalls. Will be a huge feature match against RedBalls, which could very possibly decide who will come first and win the minor premiership!

3	Dark Matter - 1

Dark Matter had a strong start to the season before dropping 2 games on the trot to the lowly ranked Green Lanterns & Dye Fast Tie Furious teams. Boasting a huge line up including some of the tallest males in the league Dark Matter plus the leading female scorer, Dee Finn, these guys need to be watched all over the park!
With run ins against the RedBalls & Clockwork Orange Dark Matter will be looking to turn their run around and finish the season with 2 Ws!

Dye Fast Tie Furious + 3

Dye Fast Tie Furious came together with a big win against a full strength Dark Matter team. Great team work coming out of the week with the entire team gelling together to learn and work with each other’s strengths and weaknesses. With Stacey still to come back into the line-up Tie Furious are looking to continue their return to form this week!
Two tough matches against The Birds & the Green Lanterns this week will be a big test for Tie Dye!

The Birds - 1

The Birds have suffered two tough losses over the past fortnight against RedBalls and LadyFingers. Last week they were short a few players which left some holes in their otherwise solid line up. Look for them to bounce back this week with some solid performances from Damon, Cody, Dane & Bekah!
With matches against Dye Fast Tie Furious & Spastic Spunk they have an excellent chance to bounce back to finish the finals with a couple of Ws!

The Green Lanterns + 2

Green Lanterns have struggled a bit this season. After a season ending injury to captain Christine the Lanterns struggled throughout the first 3 weeks of the season. In the last two weeks replacement Captain, Mike ‘The General’ Larson has stepped into the line-up to help the Lanterns to two wins on the trot. Look to Mike to continue pulling his team together for possibly another couple of wins. Can the Lanterns continue their fairy tale run to the play-offs?
The unpredictable Spastic Spunk & the improving Dye Fast Tie Furious teams will be doing their absolute best to halt the charge of the Lanterns. Look for two close games tonight!

7	Clockwork Orange - 1

Clockwork Orange has been improving week in week out under the joint leadership of Timmy & Carlos. After playing in a string on tough & long matches Clockwork Orange will be looking to turn those close losses into wins this week.
Twice as many games this week will give Clockwork Orange matches against Lascivious LadyFingers & Dark Matter. Two tough matches for CO will let them work hard to have good form coming into the finals!

8	Spastic Spunk - 3

Last but not least is Spastic Spunk. A horror week for them last week with a bunch of unavailable key players left them vulnerable to a rampaging LadyFingers squad. This week we will hopefully see the return of key players Bobby, Nick, Duncan & Sam! Be ready to see a whole new Spastic Spunk line up ready to leave their white stain over their unfortunate opponents!
Big matches against the Green Lanterns & the Birds that are anyone’s guess will finish up the league’s round robin comp.
