It's always a good reminder to people playing Ultimate that they are the referees for themselves on the field. As this is the case with Ultimate, it's best to have a read of the rules especially if this isn't just your first semester playing. In fact it's a goddamn rule that you know how to administer the rules, and it's the first one!
1. Spirit of the Game
1.1. Ultimate is a non-contact, self-refereed sport. All players are responsible for
administering and adhering to the rules. Ultimate relies upon a Spirit of the Game that
places the responsibility for fair play on every player.
So although the more senior players try to guide new players through the rules, it's even better if you can have a read yourself. Even if you've read them before the rules get updated all the time and change. If want to read the rules they can be found below. Some of the rules require interpretation and thought so take your time working through them, they aren't that long, read a section at time if you need to.
