To give teams an idea of what is at stake, the entire finals structure is now on the BLOG! More details regarding each week's activities and the finer details will be posted as we progress through but for now have a look where you want to be!
Week 1 of Finals aka tomorrow aka THE NIGHT OF THE UNDERDOG will feature TWO Games which allows every team one last shot at playing in the Grand Final! First game top team plays lowest teams and so forth. Top 2 teams get through to finals and may elect to scrimmage in the second game timeslot of the night. The second game of the night for the remaining teams will then be the next 4 highest teams (rankings 3, 4, 5 and 6) competing for the 2 Semi Final spots with the two losing teams then ending up in the 5/6 Bracket. The lowest 4 teams compete to be placed in the 7/8 Bracket or the 9/10 Bracket. Exact positions for the Bracketed teams will be worked out in Week 2.
Week 2 of Finals aka LET'S WIN SOMETHING will be the Semi finals for the top 4 teams and the ranking games for the remaining 6 teams (5th through to 10th position up for grabs) and their last shot at GLORY! Who will win the wooden spoon? Who will get their team up through the ranks for a respectable position and some credibility to take home?
Week 3 of Finals will be the GRAND FINAL and the 3rd vs. 4th playoff for bragging rights. This night the final will be staggered to start slightly later so that everyone is free to spectate and heckle and drink beer. Some fun games will also take place before the final is expected to start. Be there, bring friends, bring drinks!
IF you're confused the simplest way to think about it is this:
Turn up every week and try to win! In the third week bring beer and goon and yell at people! Get amongst it!
